Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians and listeners, Arbor Chamber music instituted The mentoring Program at Westfield High School in 1998. Through this project, Arbor’s artists visit with the instrumental students for coachings, masterclasses, discussions and performances.  It is Arbor's goal to help young people along in their musical development and to engage them more deeply in the  process of music-making so that they will be inspired to continue to listen to and play music their whole lives.
Together with the students, the performers explore what it is that makes music interesting and beautiful, how it is structured, what they should listen for, how they should rehearse and practice.
This program is now in its fourth year and is made possible through the generosity of The Frank and Lydia Bergen Foundation and the Westfield Foundation.
