About Us
For more than 15 years, the Trustees of The Education Fund of Westfield have been raising money so they can, in turn, award grants to all of the 9 Westfield Public Schools. Over $30,000 in grant money was provided to the schools throughout the district this past year alone and over $260,000 has been allocated since 1992.
The Education Fund is Westfield’s response to the national challenge to keep young people well equipped and productive in an increasingly competitive, complex and changing world.
Formed in 1991 as a non-profit, philanthropic community-based independent organization, the tax-exempt Education Fund of Westfield, has a volunteer member Board of Trustees that works cooperatively with the Board of Education and its Administration. It provides an additional source of funds and revenues to assist the public schools in maintaining and enhancing the quality of education in Westfield. The Education Fund encourages proposals from the professional staff in all curriculum areas, in addition to extracurricular activities that affect student life. The Education Foundation also has an endowment which is invested and available as an additional source of funds for grant requests.
The Education Fund fundraising efforts include a “Back to School” annual appeal letter to parents every September and an annual Wine Tasting and Auction in the Spring. A number of smaller fundraisers are also held throughout the school year. For more information regarding upcoming fundraisers, please see our Events page.
