Formed in 1991, The Education Fund of Westfield (The Ed Fund) is a philanthropic community-based, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of parent and community volunteers, The Education Fund of Westfield works cooperatively with the Board of Education to provide Westfield teachers and schools financial support to implement innovative educational programs that improve our children’s school experiences.

What we do

The Education Fund of Westfield raises money so we can, in turn, award grants to all of the Westfield Public Schools to enrich the educational experiences for our students. The Education Fund encourages proposals from the professional staff in all curriculum areas, in addition to extracurricular activities that affect student life. Over $30,000 in grant money was provided to the schools throughout the district this past year alone and over $300,000 has been allocated since 1992.

The Education Fund also has an endowment that is invested and available as an additional source of funds for grant requests.

Who we are

The Education Fund of Westfield was established in response to the national challenge to keep our children well equipped and productive in an increasingly competitive, complex and changing world.

Due to new regulations, (including state and federally mandated programs), increased energy, insurance, and facility maintenance costs, as well as rising teacher salaries, the Board of Education has been faced with some very difficult budgetary choices in recent years.  In order to offer the same level of educational success we’ve come to expect in Westfield – our schools consistently are among the top performing in the state – private fundraising is a necessity.  The Education Fund of Westfield donors play a critical role in the district’s effort to maintain excellence and support the continued quality of education.


Many of the educational materials, resources and programs provided from the Ed Funds financial support would not otherwise be funded through the traditional district budget. 

Annual Wine Tasting & Auction

The Education Fund of Westfield is hosting its Annual Wine Tasting & Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, April 27, 2013 @ 7 PM at the beautiful Echo Lake Country Club on Springfield Avenue in Westfield.
