On the Horizon
The GSWRC Membership Services Department is busily preparing for its Year End Event, themed "Bon Voyage."  The event, open to all Service Team Members, is slated for Thursday May 22 at the Vermeule Community Center (614 Green Brook Road at the cross-section of Clinton Ave.) in North Plainfield.  Dinner will be served with the festivities getting underway at 6 p.m. and concluding at 9 p.m.  Communities are asked to bring

Be in the Know
Here is the April/May edition of Realignment News, your source for all things related to the formation of the Girl Scouts of the Heart of New Jersey.

Input is Needed
As part of the realignment process, there has been a website survey developed.  Be sure to fill out the survey.  The results will be used as we move forward in the planning, development and ultimate launching of the Girl Scouts of the Heart of New Jersey's home in cyberspace.

Patriots Game
The Atlantic League's Somerset Patriots are holding Central Jersey Girl Scout Night on July 19 when they tangle with the Bridgeport Bluefish at 7:05 p.m. at Commerce Bank Ballpark.  Here is a flyer chock full of details.

Great Adventure Promotion Underway
GSWRC is pleased to announce it has joined in on an exciting partnership between Girl Scouts of the USA and Six Flags.  As part of this nationwide promotion, new Girl Scout volunteers as well as existing volunteers increasing their responsibilities (i.e. a troop Mom stepping up to be a leader or a leader stepping up to join the Service Team) will receive a free ticket to Six Flags Great Adventure.  This is a great tool for spring recruitment.  The free ticket is non-transferable and must be used during the month of July.  To take advantage of this opportunity, interested parties must register online at the linked website.  Please note that these tickets are available for adult volunteers only.  For questions on this program, contact Peggy Mellors at pmellors@gswrc.com.

McGuire Air Expo on Tap

The 305th Air Mobility Wing will host the 2008 McGuire Air Expo - which is FREE to the public - on May 31 and June 1, 2008.

Headlining this year's event will be the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Additionally, the F-15 air demonstration team and the Air Force Reserve Command's Jet Car are scheduled to perform. A large number of current and former military aircraft, including the base's own KC-10 Extender, C-17 Globemaster III and KC-135 Stratotanker will also be on display.

Our "Above All.Be Inspired" theme captures Air Force members desire to inspire others and provides a fitting conclusion to this year's Air Force Week in Philadelphia.

For more information on Air Force Week in Philadelphia and the 2008 McGuire Air Expo, visit http://www.mcguireairexpo.info or email airshow.2008@mcguire.af.mil, or call the Air Expo Committee at (609) 754-1919.
