Great Adventure Promotion Underway
GSWRC is pleased to announce it has joined in on an exciting partnership between Girl Scouts of the USA and Six Flags.  As part of this nationwide promotion, new Girl Scout volunteers as well as existing volunteers increasing their responsibilities (i.e. a troop Mom stepping up to be a leader or a leader stepping up to join the Service Team) will receive a free ticket to Six Flags Great Adventure.  This is a great tool for spring recruitment.  The free ticket is non-transferable and must be used during the month of July.  To take advantage of this opportunity, interested parties must register online at the linked website.  Please note that these tickets are available for adult volunteers only.  For questions on this program, contact Peggy Mellors at pmellors@gswrc.com.

Frazee House Program

Recently, the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock Council was approached by the Fanwood/Scotch Plains Rotary and the Aunt Betty Frazee Historical House in hopes of holding an event to celebrate local colonial history. Working with a quick turn around time, GSWRC and our community partners have crafted Crazee Frazee Day, an event for Junior Girl Scouts and third-grade Brownie Girl Scouts to learn about and celebrate Aunt Betty Frazee, a local Revolutionary War heroine. The event will be held on June 1, 2008 in Scotch Plains.  Please note that costumes are optional and participants can bring a bought loaf of bread if they do not have the means or time to bake fresh bread.

For more information on this program, please view the event flyer. Questions? Please contact Susannah Arnold at 908-232-3236 x. 1212 or sarnold@gswrc.com.
