FAMILY SUPPORT PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR TRAINING

The work of the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey is beginning to ratchet up for the coming year.  The Spring Registration recruitment was a resounding success and there are many girls eager to be a part of this new and exciting time in Girl Scouting.

In order to bring girls this new program, we need to continue to leverage sufficient financial resources to support the many expanded programs and services.  Continuation and expansion of the Family Support Partnership (formerly Family Giving or Gift for Girls) is part of that strategy.

A collaborative and restructured program has been designed to permit all parents the opportunity to provide a tax deductible, financial contribution to the council, to the troop and to the service unit, through one simple step.  Key aspects of the program include:

  • 25% of all monies donated are returned to the troop upon receipt.
  • Parents can contribute through their workplace giving or matching programs or through their United Way donations specifically designating the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey.
  • Service Units with 90% or more of their troops participating will be entitled to a rebate of all funds collected.
  • The program is launched at that first parent meeting, to better reach everyone and allow them to make their donor designations during the fall corporate campaigns.

We invite Service Unit Managers to recruit a Service Unit Family Support Partnership coordinator to attend training and learn more about this program.  A free gift awaits all managers who attend.
