Please join us to welcome our new officers. * Installation of K of C Officers -- Saturday, August 7th at 11 am in St. Anne's Church, Garwood, NJ. New officers -- please make every effort to atttend. Jacket & Tie required. * Blood Drive -- Tuesday, August 10th, from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm at our Council Hall. * Annual Charity Golf Outing -- Monday, September 20th, at The Architects Golf Club in Phillipsburg, NJ. $150 per golfer -- excellent deal. Check-in and breakfast begin at 8am, and the bus departs from Council Hall at 10:30am. For this very reasonable price, you will receive: -- Entry into Two Super Raffles -- Callaway uPro Golf GPS and a new stand bag filled with a complete set of new irons, woods and matched set of wedges. The Columbian Club opens at 4pm on Monday through Friday, and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to three large HD televisions, a pool table, and the best bar in the area, we also have the coolest shuffleboard table in the county. Richie and the boys look forward to your company. Join us for your favorite sporting events -- and a drink (or two). The entrance to the Columbian Club is in the back of the Council Hall. Our local Westfield, NJ council, Council 1711, is named the "Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council". Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council was founded in 1912. It is named after the founding Pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, who was to serve prominently as the Council’s Chaplain at the time that the original Council Hall was built. The Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council works closely with the Catholic Parishes in Westfield and Mountainside (St. Helen’s, Holy Trinity and Our Lady of Lourdes), raising and providing funds for various projects. Strong advocates of Pro-Life causes, the Westfield Knights organize a number of events to benefit crisis pregnancy centers throughout the state. Also, the annual spring fundraiser to benefit the developmentally disabled has made its membership quite recognizable to the community in their yellow and red aprons. The annual Christmas present drive for the benefit of children at the Union County Day Treatment Center brings smiles to many of the infirmed and underprivileged in the area The Council also actively supports the Westfield Food Pantry in its efforts to bring food to the most needy. Always supportive of religious orders, activities to promote the priestly and religious vocations are regularly undertaken as well. The Council also sponsors and organizes an annual Invitiational Baseball Tournament during Memorial Day weekend every year, and blood drives throughout the year.
