2009 Summer Playground Schedule for the Mother’s Center of Central NJ

WEDNESDAYS: 9:30 - 11:30am FRIDAYS: 9:30 - 11:30am

(*walking at 10am, if park is suitable)

In case of rain, we will meet at the McDonald’s on Route 22W in Scotch Plains.

Wednesday, June 10: Lincoln Park, Lincoln Ave. near S. Union Ave., Cranford

Friday, June 12*: Tamaques Park (park near tennis courts), Lamberts Mill Rd., Westfield

Wednesday, June 17: Peter J. Esposito Park, new!, Madison Hill Road (between GSP and Hazelwood Cemetery), Clark

Friday, June 19*: Merrill Park, Woodbridge (a little farther but cool stuff like animals) From Scotch Plains/Fanwood, Take Martine St. south, which becomes Lake Ave. Right on to St. Georges Ave, Right on to Chain O Hills Road, Right on New Dover Rd/Chain O Hills Rd, 3rd Left on to Fairview Ave. Follow to loop. Go around Loop, playground on Right. Animals to Left of playground down the hill. [Alternate directions: Garden State Pkwy exit 131 (Route 27 Lincoln Hwy), Left at Light on to Rt 27, 1st intersection make right on Green St, under train bridge immediately 1st left on Middlesex Turnpike straight into park]

Wednesday, June 24: Clark Municipal Building Playground (on right off circular driveway), Westfield Ave., Clark

Friday, June 26*: The Loop Playground, Watchung Reservation, Mountainside

Wednesday, July 1: Kids Street, Bridgewater, 78 W to 287 S to 206 S, Get in far Right Lane – Take Commons Way Exit, Turn Right on to Commons Way. Just before end of road at T intersection(Garrettson Rd), make a right toward municipal/police building and follow Kids Street blue signs. Kids Street parking is behind municipal bldg. (Kids will love this park!! Wooden boat, castles, cars, sandboxes, play house and more!! Lots of fun! There are picnic tables if anyone wants to bring a lunch. Approx 30 min, but worth the trip!)

Friday, July 3: Mohawk Park, Mohawk Drive (2 blocks off Raritan Rd. near GSP exit 136), Cranford

Wednesday, July 8: Field House Playground, Westfield Ave near Grove St. (next to high school ball fields), Westfield

Friday, July 10*: Mobus Field, From Cranford, Route 22 West, take Watchung Ave. exit (signage for Watchung/VA Hospital) north toward Watchung. At Watchung Circle, take Mountain Blvd.(3/4 around circle), go past the pond, then first right on Brookdale Rd(sign for Phillips field).  Playground on right.

Wednesday, July 15: “Train” playground, off Central Ave. at Westfield/Clark border at Georgia Ave. and Boynton Ave. near train tracks (nice rubber matting instead of woodchips

Friday, July 24: Forest Road Park (Forest off Midway near Martine Ave.), Fanwood/Scotch Plains

Wednesday, July 29: Chatham playground, North on Diamond Hill, Right on Mountain Ave, Left on to South St., Left on to Southern Blvd. Follow to Shunpike Road. Right on to Shunpike, Playground is down the road on the right. (Lots of wooden climbing towers, tunnels and castles)

Friday, July 31 : Mindowaskin Park, Park Drive at N. Euclid Ave near Westfield municipal building

Wednesday, August 5: Rahway River Park, off Valley Road or St. Georges Ave., Clark

Friday, August 7: Lincoln Park, Lincoln Ave. near S. Union Ave., Cranford

Wednesday, August 12: Echo Lake Park, entrance to road on Mountain Ave in Mountainside or Springfield Ave in Westfield (playground closer to Mountain Ave entrance)

Friday, August 14: Taylor Park, Main St. (between Ridgewood Rd and Millburn Ave.), Millburn

Wednesday, August 19: Unami Park, Lexington Ave. near Union Ave., borders on Cranford, Westfield & Garwood
