Word Ministries
Word Ministries study, share and proclaim the Gospel, responding to our call to become "Christ-like".
Infant Baptismal Program Fr. Donald McLaughlin
Team couples provide informational meetings for expectant parents including reflection on the Sacrament of Baptism and the implications of Christian parenting.  A short fil supplements the discussion and highlights the sacramental ritual.  Team couples also assist in the Sunday afternoon celebrations of the sacrament.  A five year mailing program - Families Beyond Baptism - continues to support the program for parents.
Father/Son Retreat Joe Ochs
A 24 hour retreat for 7th and 8th grade boys and their dads (or male guardians), to foster communication between young teens and their dads, and to assist in the development of spiritual and moral young men.
Renew 2000 Fr. Donald McLaughlin
Eileen McMahon
Many small sharing groups meet weekly in homes to share faith experiences, scripture and prayer.  Groups meet on various days at times convenient to participants.
Cornerstone Patricia Wolpert
Cornerstone is a lay ministry for community faith building.  Yearly in-parish weekend retreats are held separately for men and women.  Renewal faith-sharing days are planned periodically for those who have made the retreat.  All events are conducted by the laity with the counsel of the Pastor.  There is a Cornerstone core team, which serves as a resource to provide continuity and support.
Cursillo Joan Gallagher
This program is a short course in Christianity designed to increase adults' experience of Christianity and enliven their faith through "Cursillo Weekend Retreats" and a Parish follow-up.
Elementary Religious Education Program (Grades K-6) Kathy Dulan
Classes are taught by volunteer teachers and meet weekly in a home setting.  This program is strongly supported by parents because they are the primary educators of their children.  The program also prepares our children for the reception of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation.
Library Resource Center Mary Orlando, Ann Marie Swartz
Maintained by parish volunteers, our library (open whenever the Parish Center is open) offers a variety of magazines, video tapes, audio tapes and books, including a growing collection for small children, to enhance the personal and spiritual growth of parishioners.  An annual Book Fair provides similar resources and items for purchase.
RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
This ministry is intended for those persons seeking to become members of the Catholic Church, or who desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation as adults.  It involves an extended process of informational presentations and faith-development with the support and guidance of our RCIA team parishioners.  This experience brings new members into our faith community, and provides a wonderful opportunity for St. Helen's team parishioners, sponsors, and welcomers to explore and deepen their own faith.
