Bring/Wear what is proper for the season (cold: wool, warm: cotton) for expected or unexpected weather. Also Pack as compactly & lightly as possible since we may have to walk a mile from a camp parking lot to campsite. Please put ID on all your personal property!

Please Notify Adult Leader if scout has allergies, under medication, asthmatic, or allergic to anything such as bee sting, plants, pollen, grass, trees, dust, mold, etc.

Parent may elect to give adult leader the scout’s medicine to hold and administer proper amount @ proper time

If scout is ill Please Do Not come camping or hiking. Please complete the Permission form & hand in to Scoutmaster before the trip. Forms can be downloaded from our website: www.westfieldnj.com/troop79

PLEASE Notify adult leader of any injury IMMEDIATLEY!

___TENT: 1-2 Man tent & ground plastic pegs/poles; can be provided by troop, pick up from Scoutmaster. Please Plan as to who will be your buddy!

___Sleeping Bag & stuff bag: proper for weather & if going on hike (ex: winter - 0 degrees 4-5 lbs)

___Foam Sleeping Pad or Self-Inflating pad (air mattress ok for warmer weather) small pillow

___Back Pack (Frame pack recommended especially for hikes)
___Hip pack (opt: for personal equipment)

___Rain Cover for back pack & sleeping bag (large trash bag works ok)

___Uniform shirt & Neckerchief (definitely needed on council activities, to be notified)

___$5, IDENTIFICATION! Wallet, Insurance card/medical info (scout will be notified if a specific $ is needed, as we may be stopping someplace to eat, shop, camp store etc.

___Insect repellent (DEET) (seasonal)

___WRISTWATCH!

___Optional: Fun stuff: Camera/film, Radio/walkman, reading book, playing cards, travel games, fishing gear, Frisbee, football, etc. (Put your name on it)

___Personal Stove & Fuel/cooler/ice if not Patrol camping 

___FOOD/drinks: Snacks ok, Meals to be determined by patrol or may be on personal level (you will be notified)

___2 Trash bags

As you become a more experienced camper you will learn what is necessary to bring as well as what is not necessary!

Patrol boxes are provided containing pots/pans/cleaning supplies/cooking utensils etc.

If camping by patrol, responsibilities will be divided evenly. If for any reason you cannot go at the last minute please notify your patrol leader & adult leader immediately.
