Union Chinese School 2010-2011 School Year Curriculum

Language classes: Every Saturday 9 am-10:50 am from mid September to early June, 32 weeks in total.

Text books:

  • Preschool: Children's Chinese Reader and Chinese Phonetics
  • Traditional Track, Grades 1-10: MeiZhou Chinese Series
  • CSL Track, Chinese for Children, and CHinese Made Easy for Kids

Tuition: $300 for the first student in the family, $290 for each additional students in the same family.
Text book fee: $10/student in the traditional track, $20/student in CSL Prep, and $35/student in CSL1-4.
Other fees: Non-refundable registration fee $50/family; CACA insurance fee $5.00/family; students who take culture class only without a language class need to pay additional $50/class facility fee.

CSL1 6+ Chinese made easy for kids 1 (1-8) *2 Daily conversation about numbers, greeting, introducing and family members, and reading out loud; intraduction to Hanyu Pinyin
CSL2 7+ Chinese made easy for kids 1 (9-16) *2 Review Hanyu Pinyin, daily conversation about clothes, animal, food and rooms in a house; practice reading out loud
CSL3 8+ Chinese made easy for kids 2 (1-8) *2 Review Hanyu Pinyin, daily conversation about asking for address, telephone numbers and birthday; reading out loud
CSL4 9+ Chinese made easy for kids 2 (9-16) *2 Review Hanyu Pinyin, daily conversation about date, time, school, asking for directions, and transportation; reading out loud

Culture Classes: Every Saturday morning from 11am-11:50am, 28 weeks in total

Calligraphy 9+ Character roots, based on Yanti. Please remember to bring your own pen, ink and paper. $150
Guitar 12+ Introduction of basic guitar skill $150
Yo-Yo 7+ Techniques of playing Chinese Yo-Yo $120
Hand Craft 10+ Hand craft on beads, leather, and cloth $160

Adult Culture Class: Every Saturday morning 25-28 weeks
