The spirit of volunteerism is very special in Westfield. The United Fund of Westfield is proud to provide "The Caring Box" - a volunteer clearing house responding to special, immediate needs in our community. November - items are needed to be sent to troops stationed overseas for the holiday season: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider mixes, sealed candy, tins of cookies, microwave popcorn, decks of cards, small card & board games, music cassettes, movie videos, paperback books, crossword puzzles, word books and donations to cover the cost of mailing as well as computer boxes, brown mailing paper and mailing tape.

Catholic Community Services
A Volunteer is needed, 55 years and older, to make a daily 5 minute telephone call to an isolated homebound and vulnerable adult in Union County.

Toys, games and clothing for the annual Holiday Toy Drive, given to the special needs children who are treated at the hospital.

Food Pantry
Volunteers are needed in the following positions: morning telephone staff, afternoon food packers, and donations of personal hygiene products.

Volunteers for all activities developing and running this New Year's Eve event.

Adult volunteers to assist with implementing and planning scout programs one evening per month - programs are scheduled on the weekends.

Helium tanks for special events primarily in the spring.
Restaurants to participate in Best Chefs Night Fundraiser March 15, 1999.

JCC of Central New Jersey
Entertainment items for the youth lounge: books and games new or in excellent condition, CD/tape boom box, Nintendo set with four controllers.

November 5-7, 1998 - Coats for annual coat drive, donated to the Westfield Department of Health and Human Services (drop box located at the Westfield Library.)
December, 1998 - items for annual Wish Tree, providing gifts to many local charities in conjunction with St. Helen's Church: large and x-large adult clothing, gloves, socks, slippers, toys. An "ornament" with a gift item request may be obtained at St. Helen's Church, or any new items of clothes or toys are welcome.
