"NIGHT PLACE" PROGRAM
Fridays from 7:30PM TO 9:30 PM
Edison Intermediate School
March 10th & May 5th.
10TH ANNUAL WESTFIELD RECREATION ROAD RACES (5-MILER & FUN
RUN)
Saturday, April 29th in Tamaques Park (5-Miler and 1 Mile Fun
Run)
Registration is by mail or in person on race day. Please call for an
application.
WESTFIELD MEMORIAL POOL
The NEW registration process for the 2000 season is as follows: (All registration
must be done in person)
March 13th to March 31st - 1999 Westfield resident members only! (Until 60%
of membership capacity is reached)
April 3rd to April 28th - All Westfield residents including 1999 resident
members. (Until 80% of membership capacity is reached)
May 1st until maximum is reached - All Westfield residents and any non-resident.
Swim Lesson registration will not begin until May 8th.
The pool opens June 3rd @ 12:00noon & closes September 4th.
Swim Team registration take place on June 5th @ 4:00pm
Swim Lessons begin June 27th @ 9:00am
Adult Night is every Wednesday night beginning June 28th (6:00-8:30PM)
Teen Night is every Wednesday night beginning June 28th (8:30 - 10:30PM)
RECREATION SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS
Sport Camps registration begins May 8th.
Camps take place in a five-week period beginning July 10th and ending August
11th.
Sports include but are not limited to Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Lacrosse,
Tennis, & Wrestling.
RECREATION SUMMER PLAYGROUNDS
A free seven-week program for Westfield residents beginning June 26th and
ending August 11th.
June 26th is registration day only (1:00 - 3:00pm) and takes place at the
sites listed below.
Children must have completed kindergarten and cannot have sat in the seventh
grade.
Playground sites include Jefferson School, Tamaques School, McKinley School,
Washington School, Franklin School, Wilson School and the Neighborhood Council.
(Exceptional Center is at Tamaques School)
TENNIS COURTS
Tennis Court Attendants will begin monitoring courts Memorial Day weekend.
(May 27th )
Tennis membership cards are required for play on Tamaques and Memorial Courts.
There will be free play for residents on Elm Street courts in 2000.
Membership cards can be purchased at the Recreation Office beginning April
3rd and can also be purchased at Tamaques and Memorial courts beginning Memorial
Day weekend.
The lights at Tamaques will be turned on May 1st and turned off September
30th. (Lights are on daily from dusk to 10pm)
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Concerts take place on Thursday evenings in Mindowaskin Park @ 8:00PM
Concerts are scheduled to begin June 8th and run through August 10th. (10
concerts)
Performers will be announced at a later date.
SUMMER DISCOUNT TICKETS
Discount admission tickets will be offered to the areas most exciting Amusement
Parks including: Great Adventure, Mountain Creek, Morey's Pier, Sesame Place,
Dorney Park and Hershey Park. Tickets can be purchased at the Recreation
Office in May.
