Concertmaster Anton Miller, winner of the Artists International Competition,
gave
his Carnegie Hall debut in a concerto performance with the New Chamber Orchestra
of New York. Since that time, he has appeared as soloist with many orchestras throughout the United States. As international soloist, Mr. Miller gave the World Premiere performance in Beijing China of the "Last Paradise" for violin and orchestra which was taped for live broadcast all over Asia and subsequently released on CD.
Recently he traveled to Brazil to tour Tchaikovsky Concerto with the renowned Orchestra Sinfonica de Campinas resulting in a return engagement to perform the Sibelius Concerto. He returned again to Brazil to perform the Brahms Concerto. Mr. Miller has added Korngold Concerto to his repertoire with performances with the Lincoln (Nebraska) Symphony. Other concerti appearances this past season include performances with Corpus Christi Symphony and orchestras in New York, New Jersey and Florida. The coming season will feature performances with the Bronx Symphony, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and orchestras in Ohio, New Jersey and Florida.
Mr. Miller actively toured as a recitalist in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, China and the United States including programs in Alice Tully Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. This year Mr. Miller will have recital tours in Florida, New Jersey and New York City. Mr. Miller has released Compact Disc recordings of the Dorian, Jericho, Full House and Hugo labels.
Mr. Miller received his Bachelor's in Music from Indiana University as a student of Franco Gulli and was awarded the prestigious Performer's Certificate. He completed his Master's in Music degree at the Julliard School as a scholarship student of Dorothy DeLay. Mr. Miller is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Violin at the Oberlin Conservatory.
Mr. Miller lives in New York City and plays on a Nicolo Gagliano violin, c. 1780.
